MAY BE

Maybe it is!

Maybe it is not!

Maybe it is, and is not!

May be its unspeakable

Maybe it is, and unspeakable

May it is not, yet unspeakable

Maybe it is and is not; and still unspeakable

May be!  May not be!

The heretic says!

Stuck in this fathomless flux of life

Just let it be!

MESMERIC SWAY

I have roamed and wandered endlessly

For life times I have patiently waited

And now finally!

I now get a glimpse of your mesmeric eyes!

Petals of love now blossom in my heart

The nectar of wisdom flows

The breeze of happiness gently blows

As your plaited hair sways as you walk away

Tell my dear

Will you look this away again?

ANOTHER TRIP

Enticed by form

Convinced by the feeling

Fancied by the trivial

Stumbling and stalling

Oh! Stupid mind

Where did you trip again ?

ENTICING ENTWINER

Enchanting eyes that entice!

Beguiling words that charm!

Passionate embraces that entwine!

The heretic says!

In this world of perfidious coquetry

Can anyone escape this trap?

MINDLESS SUNRISE

Another morning, fresh and new

Dew drops and misty grass

Clouds and thoughts floating by

Crimson feelings flowing

Happiness and joy

Residing peace

As the tranquil rays spread and glow

Oh!  Can’t tell my mind from the sunrise!

WHITE AND BLUE

White and blue

An ever charming smile

Shrouded now

By the mask of death

Your sunken eyes

Once filled with life and love

Now opalescent and grey

Your absence

Deep dark and silent!

You lived to help!

And helped to live!

A mother you were to all!

Yet, dear sister!

When a thousand ordinary lives still need you here

Why did our Lord take you so soon?

ANTICIPATION

The treasure within

A missing tooth

 A mind lost to anticipation

The heretic says!

Can suffering be far behind?

WEB OF VICE

The nightingale sings!

The claws tighten!

Webbed up in a dusty corner

The surly spider crawls!

The heretic says

Who weaves this vice of the heart?

FINAL CUT

Warm blood gushing on white foam!

The blade finally cuts through!

Thinned out red

Dancing and merging

Round and round

Circling the unplugged drain

The heretic says!

A bath too long in this tub of life

Oh!  Is it time to pull the plug?

RAINBOW OF HOPE

The rain drops still trickle and fall

The grass and trees are brighter green

Across the stone wall of this ancient fort

Arching into the empty blueness of the sky

The Rainbow is ever so faint

Deep within!

A mind sighs!

Oh! Is this the illusion of Hope?

GRIM FACE

Grimace of a face

Growling and scowling

Obnoxious with vice!

Disgruntled; disgraceful!

The heretic says!

Oh! Dirty mind

Why hide behind this tarry mask?

BIRD-LESS WRITHINGS

The bird of the past has flown

The bird of the future is an illusion

Alone now!

No bird in hand

No bird in the sky

Feeding on my rotting heart

The worms within writhe!

CHOCKING DESCENT

The door of the elevator closes shut

The darkness of the soul and the dingy cabin

Both descend!

As the floors pass by!

One by one! One by one!

 Breathing the musty encroaching air

A heavy thought descends upon me

Descends upon me and chokes!

A gruff voice within, asks me in my ear?

Tell me you fool!

Why are you still you alive?

A POEM GONE

A blank paper swaying the breeze

On me, you wrote poetry

You gave me meaning

You gave me life

But rain came!

And life changed!

Now washed away in the downpour

Soaked in a puddle

Ink blotched up; words gone

Once paper; now wet and torn

Tell me my dear!

Where did our poem go?

DANCING RIPPLES

Two ripples in a pond

By this pebble!

Formed by chance!

Together now in this  moment

Resonating in one another!

Hastened by transience!

Entwined by the presence!

Weaving patterns that readily vanish

Joyful as long as our time lasts

Tell me my dear

Why don’t we smile and dance?

SUDDEN STRIKE

The winds plays havoc

The trees sway in violence

Leaves and branches lie scattered

The rain pours!

Thunder roars!

Un-targeted and unplanned

Lightning suddenly strikes!

Standing alone on a rocky peak

A mind within wonders

Oh! When will it strike my vulnerable heart?

GREEN IS THE COLOR

Lazing clouds embrace the hills

The morning drizzle!

The cool monsoon breeze!

Left over from the nights down pour

Full up puddles!

Now blue with the clearing sky

Trees and lawns; fields and the hills

Green is the colour!

Green is the colour of life!

Happiness resides!

Peace flows!

Oh! How blissful is this beauty of life!

STILL POURING

The rain has stopped now

Grass here is greener

Birds chirp away

Flowers blossom

Deep inside my moistened heart

Tell me dear

Why is it still pouring?
