OLD MAN ON THE MOUNTAIN

This mountain path is arduous

The climb is hard and steep!

A thousand times before

I  have tread this way!

But then!

I was younger !

Not hidden by my younger mans clothes 

My beard is grey!

I'm breathless as I climb!

My knees creak as I descend

My heart keeps racing without exertion

As I linger on , with sweat in my brow

 Still Enjoying the beauty around me

My aging mind wonders

Will I ever come back here again!

OPEN WINDOW

The little window is open; and the cool breeze rushes in

The sunshine is warm and soothing; my happy mind is free

Another day now passes; just as the years have rolled by!

In the garden below, people come and go; as the fragrance of the blossoms fill the air

Seasons change and my house weathers  

Happy with sitting by the stillness of my window; my silent life flows!
