STILL AFLOAT

Neither here; neither there

My soul is restless; my mind wanders

 Mighty Passion has now toppled my boat

Paddling desperately in the battling waves

And breathlessly gasping for air

I wonder in astonishment!

 What is that still keeps me afloat? 

EMPTY HULL ACROSS THE RIVER

The lonesome boat has crossed the swelling river

But no soul has left its deck

The craving, the seeking; the futile frustration

 The thoughtless waves and rising ripples  

Still pointlessly rock within this empty hull!
