ONE TRUTH, TWO LIES
One truth, two lies; my philosophy!
One; the truth of impermanence
Two; the lies of trust and hope
Sailing the insatiable sea of impermanence
On the fragile boat of trust and hope
I may or may not reach my willful destination
But in true happiness; I shall live,
And in true happiness I shall die!
Tied down to the rock of self pity
Grabbing desperately on the straw of my ego
With no trust or hope to pull me out
Will I not surely drown, in fatal misery?
So my mind says, dear friend!
One truth, two lies; I believe
One truth, two lies; my philosophy!

MURKY MIND AND CLEAR WATER
What’s with all of this confusion?
What is all of this inner conflict
about?
Look at water!
Look at water and learn!
Water knows no colors
Water knows no form
Water knows no exclusive right way!
Yet it fills the shape of every bowl
And flows away when the time comes
No form or path, does is cling to
No permanent stain or color does it
carry
Yet shaping and giving life!
Essence less, yet the essence of
everything!
How clear is the water!
How clear beyond all confusion!
Oh murky mind of mine, be like this
clear water
When the storm is raging and cold
rain pours
Oh murky mind! Just let it fill and
let if flow!

THE DAY EXPECTATION DIED
For today, with the falling rain
drops, a new era has begun
The flood gates of the soul have
been finally opened
And euphoric waves of joy and
happiness overflow
My sorrows drown and bliss fills the
air
For today is the day, my expectation
has died!
With expectation gone
Every moment is a blessing
Every day is a gift
Every problem is an opportunity
Hope doesn’t hurt, when its lets you
down
Love doesn’t it kill, when the wind
blows away
Oh how splendid is this life,
without this monstrous expectation
How splendid it is, to let it go!
FALL FROM EDEN
From joyful fountains of Eden
I have fallen into this hell hole of
today
Oh, what venomous fruit did I bite?
Innocent I was in love and life
What wrong footed twist of fate
Has led me to this serpentine misery!
With tied up hands I yearn to
swim
While this whirlpool of my mind
churns me
Oh what divine hand shall reach out
to me?
Reach out, and raise me from the
dead!

HOW MUCH ME
How much clearer must be the
mirror, to see the sadness in my soul?
How much violent must be the anger, that dares to hurt Me
How much bitter must be hatred, that finally kills Me
How much molten must be lust, that
lures to melt Me
Torn between the void of empty
spaces and faces
How much deeper must my love be to
love once again!

VENOMOUS WINE OF ATTACHMENT
The venomous wine of attachment!
How sweet is the taste of the luring
sip?
How sweet is its first after
taste!
Yet with every gulp after; every
gulp your crave
As the stealth of the venom
blinds your heart, and cripples your soul
Pangs of suffering choke your
mind!
Oh drunken soul of mine!
How intoxicated have I become!
Intoxicated I am in fear and love
Intoxicated I am in passion
Intoxicated I am in sensual
pleasure
Intoxicated I am in experience
Tell me, oh drunken soul of mine
If existence is merely a vivid dream
What more can be of mere experience?

WEEPING AT THE PALACE GATES
His tired horse has returned home empty; his head still hanging
low
The queen in weeping, and the king couldn’t show
His little boy slept, little did he know!
His wife’s sad eyes say it all, but her tears couldn’t flow!
Oh great Siddhartha! What sorrow has descended upon your family!
Seeking happiness and wisdom, must you leave your home!
What luring torch of truth that you will find
Can make you leave your love behind
What wounds of suffering you seek to soothe
Can make you forget your son’s innocent smile
What strength of heart, and what mindful determination!
Can make you win over the mighty tricks of Mara
Oh great Siddhartha!
Did you weep when you left the palace gates?

CRAVING HEART

How can the mighty ship of happiness set sail
When its anchored to the rocks of memory
How can the fumes of sorrow be extinguished
When the fire of self-pity burns into misery
How can the roaring waves of conflict subside
When the winds of expectation are still blowing
How can the river of compassion flow
When its hindered by the dam of selfishness
How can the carpet of self control be woven
When the loom of mindfulness is broken
How can the cage of attachment be opened
When its still bound by the chains of desire
Tell me dear friend! How can a wandering mind be free?
When my bleeding heart is still craving!
